Things to ponder while enjoying the beautiful summer weather......
**Recently I had to interview an elderly lady and man for a psychology class paper.
I had to ask the lady to define success in her own words.
Her reply, “Success is when you look back at your life and the memories make you smile.”
The man was asked to define 3 tips for success.
His reply, “ Read something no one else is reading,
think something no one else is thinking and do something no one else is doing.”
Something else to think about - coincidence or not???
**On a recent train ride into NYC I chatted with the man sitting in the seat next to me.
He reassured my belief that there are no such things as coincidences.
He shared that 2 days prior he woke up feeling ill,
but decided to go to work anyway, because he needed the money.
At the end of the work day he was laid-off.
While driving home he got a flat tire and tried to change it, but couldn’t because his spare was also flat.
As he stood by his car wondering what to do a car pulled over and gave him a ride.
As they drove to the repair shop, they chatted and the man offered him a job.
That’s where he was headed that morning.
**While in the grocery store I had the pleasure of overhearing a little boy ask his mom if they recycled?
The mom asked him why and he said, “So you can help me save the planet.”
The mom then asked him why he wanted to save the planet and he replied,
“ It’s where I keep all my stuff.”
** Just recently I was ill and feeling a bit “down in the dumps”.
While lying around, I decided to check my e-mail.
I was very surprised to receive one from someone I haven’t heard from in a long time.
She said, “ Thinking of you, hope all’s ok.”
It made me smile...
I recently met a few old work friends for lunch, something I try to do since I retired.
We ate and laughed and enjoyed our get-together.
When I got home that afternoon, I sat and read the paper.
As I read my horoscope for the day I got chills.
It said, “ Take time today to meet with old friends. Enjoy the company.”
Like I said, Something to ponder.”
Remember to always “ Stop to smell the roses.”
Happy Summer... Happy Living !!!!!!!
