A Note from Blue Point Fire Department

Good evening, As we continue to try and flatten the curve and slow the spread of the virus, we would like to assure our residents that the members of the Blue Point Fire Department are doing our part to protect our residents and commercial businesses. We have put policies and procedures in place to clean and disinfect our building, equipment and fire apparatus daily and after each call. We are using a product specifically used for biological, chemical and other harmful contaminants that first responders and military personnel may come across. We have also added additional personal protective equipment to our apparatus for our firefighters to use when needed. Many of these supplies have been provided by our partners from Suffolk County Fire Rescue and Emergency Services in Yaphank. We are very thankful for all of their assistance. They have been busy assisting all of the fire and ems agencies across Suffolk County throughout the pandemic as well. Finally, we want to assure the public that we are still here and ready to respond in a moments notice when called upon. Please don’t hesitate to call if you have an emergency or just a concern that needs to be addressed. Be safe and stay healthy. Sincerely, James A. Schmidt Chief of Department
