A group of local endurance cyclists are attempting to scale the distance of the highest peak in the world through Everesting. The idea behind Everesting is simple: Pick any hill, anywhere in the world and complete repeats of it in a single activity until you climb 29,032 Feet or 8,849 Meters – the equivalent height of Mt Everest.
The dedicated members of the LI Cranx Foundation chose Devil’s Kitchen, an infamous climb at The Catskills of NY as the setting for this grueling trial of endurance and emotion. They will be setting out at 4am of July 10 with the goal of raising $50,000 to support the Independent Group Home Living organization (IGHL), who provide services and supports for individuals with intellectual disabilities so that they can realize their full potential and become contributing members of their community. The COVID-19 pandemic dramatically impacted the ability of IGHL to provide many of these essential services, with the organization facing budget cuts, closures, and staff reduction.
