There are new rules for filing unemployment claims with the Department of Labor. Due to an overwhelming amount of applicants in light of the Corona Virus, applicants can now apply by day based on their last names. NEW claimants with last names starting with A through F should apply on Mondays, G-N on Tuesdays and O-Z on Wednesdays. Thursdays and Fridays are for people who missed their filing day. Additionally, new claimants can apply online or by phone at 1-888-209-8124, from 8AM to 7:30PM. Monday through Thursday and 8AM to 6PM on Friday.
