Important Message from Blue Point Fire Department

Good evening, As the Covid-19 pandemic situation has begun to escalate in our area, we would like to again remind all of our residents to practice social distancing and proper hygiene practices to reduce the spread of the virus. Our members are still responding to emergencies during this time, but we too are taking additional precautions to insure the safety and health of our firefighters. If you need to request the fire department, please answer the added questions the dispatcher may ask. This will help alert responding firefighters if they are responding to a home that may be under quarantine before we arrive. We ask that you meet firefighters outside the home from a safe location to advise them of the potential situation they are responding too. The Department of Suffolk County Fire Rescue and Emergency Services continues to update our department of potential or known quarantined homes in our district via the County Health Department as well. I would also like to acknowledge the school district, local businesses, churches, community organizations and our residents for continuing to support each other during this time. The outpouring of support on social media and other forums has been unbelievable. It's times like this that we truly realize how great our small community we call home is. Thank you, James A. Schmidt Chief of Department Blue Point Fire Department 130 years of Dedicated service.
