Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce’s annual menorah lighting took place on the first night of Hanukkah at Chamber Park at the end of Nicolls Road in Blue Point.
A festive crowd gather to celebrate with Rabbi Jessica Rosenthal from B’nai Israel Reform Temple in Oakdale. Rabbi Rosenthal spoke about the miraculous messages of lighting the menorah that still hold true today. Once the huge menorah was lit, she led everyone in song.
Chamber board member Seth Needelman organizes this event every year and said, “It makes us feel good to hold celebrations like this for the community. It is a nice night.”
Everyone also enjoyed hot cocoa and scrumptious rugelach and macaroons by chamber member Lenore Ringer Prezioso.
