At Bayport-Blue Point School District’s March Board of Education meeting, the following students were presented with certificates of recognition for their impressive performances at their respective schools’ spelling bees: Meghan McCarthy of Blue Point Elementary School, Kaylee Doris and Aila Cahill of Academy Street Elementary School, Adil Shah of Sylvan Avenue Elementary School, and Jillian Storminger of James Wilson Young Middle School. Bayport-Blue Point High School’s Taylor Dibiase and Jonluca Cortese were also honored for their outstanding accomplishments in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Essay Writing Contest, earning first place and third place, respectively.
